This wizard will guide you through setting up WinMLS to display frequency and time response.
The lower plot displays the time data/impulse response.
Click help for an example on how to use this setup for measuring your sound card.
To select another type of measurement, go to Measurement→Settings… as shown in the picture.
As default this setup displays the Impulse/Frequency Response and is not set to Scope Mode. Scope Mode means that it displays only the input signal.
Although Impulse/Frequency Response is selected it is still possible to plot the result in Scope Mode. This means that the signal level is measured (e.g. SPL) and not the system gain.
Click help for more info.
The upper plot displays the frequency response.
To turn off smoothing, if you have Level 4 of the software or higher, use the button in the picture. It is found to the lower right.
If you cannot find this button, you can turn on smoothing from Plot→Plot Type Settings→Frequency Response/Spectrum…. Make sure the Smoothing check box is checked.
If you want to measure low frequencies only, go to Measurement→Settings…. Make sure the 'Imp/Freq Res" tab is checked.
Click help for information on how to set do this.
