Step 1 – Detecting Echoes

Detecting EchoesDetecting echoes can be done visually with WinMLS as shown in the picture.

If you are new to WinMLS and want to perform measurements, it is recommended that you first load the setup named Room Acoustics_Reverberation Time to get familar.

For a short description on how to measure, click help.

When you have done this, click the Next > button to continue.

Step 2 – How to Detect Echoes

How to Detect EchoesIf you have not performed a measurement, you may open a measurement from FileOpen….

The impulse response is displayed in the plot using dB as vertical axis (see picture).

A picture is overlaid displaying the area where the sound is percieved as echoes etc.

Note: This picture is only a help, since the percieved echo will depend on direction, frequency content, masking of earlier sound etc.

Step 3 – Customize the wizard

Customize the wizardIf you want to start the Wizard again, do this from MeasurementWizardStart.

You can easily edit the Wizard to include your own specific instructions from MeasurementWizardEditor….

If you want WinMLS to remember changes you have made to the settings, store the setup from SetupStore As….

Click the Finish button to exit this wizard.
