Step 1 – RME Fireface 800

RME Fireface 800This setup contains settings for theRME Fireface 800.

Step 2 – Fireface Settings

Fireface SettingsMic/Line input 7 is set as default input.

Remember to set input 7 to Front in the Fireface 800 settings dialog.

We recomend using the highest buffer size for maximum reliability.

Step 3 – Sound Card Settings

Sound Card SettingsIf you wish to use another device than the default, go to MeasurementSound Card….

You must choose input and output devices with MME at the end.

WinMLS does NOT controll the Fireface mixer.

Step 4 – System Delay

System DelayThis card is synchronized and needs no loopback to measure system delay.

This is true if the SyncAlign option is checked in the Fireface Settings dialog.

In MeasurementSystem Delay… , ‘Yes, my sound card is synched’ is selected and the delay is set to 0 samples.

We have measured the sound card delay to 142 samples at 48 kHz. This equals 3 ms and must me subtracted if using the default settings.See the help file First measurements walk-through step 4 and 5 for more information.

Step 5 – Known Issues

If you are using sampling frequency 96 kHz or higher, you may get an error message saying that there was an error opening the Wave IN device.

In this case, you have to close and restart WinMLS. We are trying to solve this problem.
